In 1978 we took the kids in the Comet to Disneyland. An epic journey. The whole back of the station wagon was a rolling bed where Fraser and Laura could loll, read comic books and argue. This was before seat belts so we travelled unfettered.
The road to the Cove was a lot narrower before 1978. That year I was working for the Department of Highways when we took on widening the dirt road. An Airtrack, one of the noisiest machines invented.
