Bill would occassionally call from Victoria after he moved there and if I answered the phone he would invariably say
“Nora are you alone?”
Funny, nice guy.
summer of ’68, if i recall, and Bill was in the old
Co-op and unhappy about the line-up in front of him
lay down on the floor and waving his his hands and
feet in the air shouted “give me service!” everyone in
front of him, all tourists, backed away, and he got up and made
his purchase. he was a lovely man and it was a simpler time
