Waiting for the ferry at Denman East we saw a gunboat entering the Lambert Channel from the north, The ship did not turn until it seemed dangerously close to North east Denman. Then it , very impressively leaned over, made it’s turn and continued on past us at what was an incredible speed. I was told later by an ex seaman that the crew was supposed to record and log every change of course so this one turn was a way to eliminate fussy bookwork.
