The two car ferry! On returning to the island in the evenings, Dad (Jack Parnell) would go up into the cabin and talk with Albert, and i got to sit on the chart table–not that there were any charts, i think more like newspapers and magazines.

Yup, Leo wasn’t worried about lifting the tarp on the back of your truck then discussing it’s contents with you.
On our first trip here Leo ambled up to the car to find out who we were. His comment to me was “You’ll really like the ladies sewing circle.” What he meant was the weaving and spinning group that met in Betty Smith’s basement. I love that picture you posted as it brings back so many memories.
