What a beautiful and touching photo of Glenn and his son Chris! Glenn was a treasure. Thanks for posting this Bob.
oops…Joane, like Joan, with an e.
He was a delightful part of that slightly zany diaspora from Vancouver… Hal, Joann, Glenn, Maureen, Dick W., George, and Richard… that became the old-school artistic firmament of Shingle Spit. I loved getting to know him back then, in the 1970’s… when everyone seemed to get together for clams, oysters, thousands of drinks, sunsets, and jazz.
His son, Chris, plays saxophone in Vancouver.
Such a great gentleman. I will miss him. I have enjoyed hearing his son play at the Thatch on many occasions, with proud father Glenn in attendance.
It just came to me. I believe the boy’s (Glenn’s son) name is Chris.
That is a gorgeous portrait of Glenn, Bob.
There’s a lot in there. All true …
Bye Glenn
He used to dress up as Toulouse Latrec for Halloween. Put shoes on his knees. Shocked many a homeowner when he rang the doorbell.
Glenn was my neighbour when I was a kid and on Hornby, as an adult. I always loved his kind smile, generous and encouraging words and his great sense of humour which was particularly fun to see when I was a kid (it helped me learn even adults can be kids sometimes).
I’ll miss him.
adios amigo..RIP, I wish we’d had time for one more martini
Wonderful guy. I’ll never forget the night I met the two of you in Gastown. 1971. Too much fun, you rascals.
Goodbye Glenn – You are now at peace in that brass band in the other world…

so sad but at least that terrible pain is over.
Sorry to hear Bob.

A semi-practical use for my 10,000 historical photos
